Prom.... Hell No This is our Leaver's Ball.

thought I'd upload a couple pictures from my Leaver's Ball. If you are a little confused by the title basically the girls in my year at school decided to boycott the idea of having a prom. We all refused to wear some princess dress and tiara b/c it can be a little tacky. (I'm not judging you if you have gone for the princess look, it's your choice but my personal opinion is that it's alittle tacky).

I think we did a pretty good job keeping it smart and sophisticated. I loved everyone's dresses!

Just thought I'd let you know my dress is £35 from Dorothy Perkins. It was the most extravagant dress but it was very flattering and perfect seeing as I didn't have time to get another one.

Also here's some pictures from my "House Dinner". Which is basically a dinner for 1/6 of the schools kids, b/c all the school is split into 6 houses to create team spirit and competition.

Well we go for a meal and wear lovely dresses. My dress is from H&M not quite sure on the exact price b/c I got it discounted, but it's about £25. I love this dress, I found it so comfortable, but VERY boobie. I had to constantly reorganise my boobs. DREAD! I even used boob tape from Primark, I'm not going to review b.c I don't think boob tape is meant for girls with 34F I think it's a more 34D and below, which is silly b/c boobs that size don't move much anyway.

I wouldn't suggest using it, it comes as like a huge survival pack with nipple pads and bra straps. It was a £5 which isn't bad considering all the stuff you got with it. But I didn't like the boob tape it didn't work, the bra straps didn't hook on properly to my Bras and the nipple pads HURT!

I'm also wearing topshop heels £65 bit pricey but beautiful.

Girls Holiday Essentials.

This year coming to Malia is the DC Ladies.

Mals 2011 is just 5 short days away and I am pumped. I couldn't be more up for 6 days of sun, sea and sangria. It's gonna' be EPIC!

So in preparation for the tramendous occation I have been thinking about my essential list for a girls holiday. I don't except everyone to agree with what I say but this is a list of my necessities.

NUMBER 1:

No holiday is a holiday without bikinis!!!!!!!!! I am lapping up the block colour bikinis!

I always suggest buying bikini's which are sold separately b/c it gives you the freedom to pick and choose sizes.

This is a sold separately bikini from H&M I love the halter neck detailing but if you have broad shoulders or big boobs I suggest not wearing this unless your slender (then you can wear anything :P)

I personally couldn't wear this I have very big boobs and broad shoulders.

I will be buying more plain looking bikinis in a bra style just for decent support and comfort. It also means you can take the shoulder straps down when sunbathing, avoiding unnecessary tan lines.

I also suggest buying bikinis which you can mix and match, it will help prevent the embarrassment of wearing the same bikini twice. I suggest a large supply of coloured bikinis and then a couple plain black and white bikinis it's just a simple choice to mix and match your bikinis.

NUMBER 2

Suncream and aftersun!

There is nothing worse than sunburn but at the same time who wants to come back without any colour.

One thing you guys should realise about me is that I'm quite organised especially when I'm excited, like now!

Soo here's my time table for efficient tanning:

Between 6am-9am.

Okay now I'm not suggesting you have to wake up at this time but if you happen to be awake at this early hour I would recommend a low SPF oil. This is when the sun is just looming over the harison, as the UV rays will be alot weaker.

I recommend BANANA BOAT OIL. I use spf15 its really good for quick tanning, and in this early hour you wanted to soak up as much sun as pos!

Between 9am-12pm

These hours again it is alittle touch and go on whether you will be up from previous nights out. But at the moment my plan is to get up at 9am and get outside for early morning tanning. For this ungodly hour I suggest a medium factor oil, as the sun will still be just warming up.

Maybe if your skin is alittle more fair a sun cream maybe more appropriate, but I'm comfortable to continue with an oil.

Between 12pm and 3pm

Now this is the time for fearing the sun. This is when the baggy t-shirts and sharongs come out. At this time the sun is at it's strongest and therefore its most dangerous. During this hour it's suncream and big hats.

I don't generally where sun cream I wear P45 which is a all can lotion it's really good if you don't want to constantly reapply but if you do decide to try out this be aware that you must reapply every few hours and after you go in the pool or sea. I know it sounds like a rip off buying an all day Sun Lotion when it doesn't last all day but you have to be aware the company selling are judging the cream without thinking about sweating. And everyone after a day in the sun is abit of a sweaty betty, (I know I certainly am).

If you prefer sun cream, why not try Soltan by Boots, at £4.95 where can you go wrong. But if you want a more expensive suncream (though in no way am I saying higher price=better), you could try Sisley £58 at Boots.

Fair Skin: SPF 50-30.

Medium Skin: SPF 30-25

Dark Skin: SPF 25-10.

Between 3pm-6pm.

This is of course assuming that from 6pm to you go out you'll be busy getting ready. I recommend a more medium oil again. This will give you alot of protection but also it will help soak up all the last few moments of sun.

6pm - onwards

IT'S AFTER SUN TIME!!!!!!!

I suggest either aloe vera lotion something like BANANA BOAT ALOE VERA LOTION, it helps moisturise your skin which will help maintain your tan but also it's brilliant for painful burns, it cools down your skin.

Number 3:

SANDALS!

On my holiday I need an unneccessary number of sandals. I wear sandals every where and on this holiday it will be continued. One thing I want you girls to remember that you're in a hot country and you don't wanna be not only uncomfortable with the heat but also with painful feet and blisters.

To avoid this unnecessary annoyance I suggest flats on your NUMEROUS nights out.

It will keep you out that little while longer, and you'll appreciate it soo much, and it'll be soo dark in the club no one will see.

I've got myself a BEAUTIFUL PAIR of TOPSHOP SANDALS for £11.50 on ebay.

Although, I must warn you all that sandals on a beach is definately not recommendable, sand between straps and skin can be VERY VERY SORE.

So for those days on the beach a pair of FLIP FLOPS are the perfect footware. My personal shoe of choice for such occasions are Havaianas. They are the MOST COMFORTABLE SHOES IN THE WORLD. I mistakenly bought some a few years ago and they are still going strong and I have never regretted the purchase. Abit pricey for Flip Flops but well worth the buy. On usc.co.uk, you can get these beauties for £15 to £20, which is not too bad.

NUMBER 4:

A good book.

For me I can't sleep in the sun, unless very, very tired soo nothing keeps me happier than being absorbed in a book.

If you have been living on MARS for the last few years then I suggest reading the TWILIGHT SAGA. It's brilliant to read even if you've seen the films.

Or if you are into more Rauchy books, I recomend Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake Novels, there are MILLIONS of them and they do not require starting from the beginning, I've been reading them for years and still having read the first few.

If fantasy really isn't your cup of tea, why not read ONE DAY by David Nicholls. This is a really good read, I haven't finished this book yet but soo far it's AMAZING! I also know this is currently being made into a film coming out on the 26th of August and it has Ann Hathaway in it as well, which is amazing!

NUMBER 5:

Sunglasses!

Without them we would be Blind!

I wear Primark to Ray Bans. I looking to buy a new pair of Ray Bans, but they don't come cheap.

You can some times buy them on the cheap on Ebay. But I know someone who has done this and got the junior wayfarers instead of the adult. This of course was a great disappointment!

But I have been known to wear some very nice Primark Wannabe Wayfarers and Clubmasters. At £1.50 where can y0u go wrong.

Number 6:

Maxi Dress.

I live in maxi dresses and I keep buying more and more. The other day I went shopping and bought 3, two of which were the same in a different colour. I lapp up Maxi Dresses.

Although, maxi dress are beautiful but I have a list of musts:

1. Must be either down to base of the ankle, their is nothing worse than a calf length maxi I have bought my share and I have HUGE regret.

2. Must have a tightening aspect of the dress around the waist or hips. This is to maintain a feminine body shape. No one wants to look like the waistless wonder.

3. You must buy dresses which display variety of styles either in colour, or arm style. There is no point buying dress which are all strapless, etc. Long sleeves is a must have if you are arm conscious.

My favourite shops are H&M, Ark, Primark, Dorothy Perkins.

Number 7:

It may sound awful cover up all U16 year old ears.... but condoms.

Just in case you meet Mr right or just Mr right now, no one wants to be left un prepared, and I watch embarrassing bodies every week and who wants to get those DISEASES!

Always take your own because even if the guy has one who knows where or WHEN he got it. Always use your own!

Always watch out for breakages and ...

Always remember not all STD/STI's are caught the old fashion way even if you keep your relationship at the first few bases diseases can still be spread.

Just be safe!

Number 8:

Sachel style bag!.... with a shoulder strap.

I love clutch bags, but as I was saying earlier in a hot country, it always best to minimise discomfort. So bags with shoulder straps are always recommendable!

I recently bought a new sachel from Primark. For £7 you surely can not go wrong!

Number 9:

An ipod with all your favourite summer hits.

Number 10:

A lockable suitcase.

You must always remember you are in a foreign country and you do not know who you're staying with and you will need passport and money to get home and last the holiday.

To sum up this holiday list of essentials.

Always remember to keep safe and be comfortable in what you wear.

Don't sacrifise comfort for style in a foreign country it will just make you ratty and irritable and that is not advisable with a bunch of girls, it could lead to unneccessary arguements.

It's Glastonbury and if I hadn't spent the year revising for my A2's and had bought tickets, these are some of my fashion ideas of Glasto friendly outfits.

The sad reality about Glasto is that you want to look cute and summer (cos' it's june for christ sake) but in truth this little island we live in isn't the place of summer fun. So here's my tips on half summer/ half rain prepared styles.

This is the perfect coat for hiding from the showers -and if you smell from dirt and sweat... :(, this coat with hide all your sins.

It'll skim of a chubby belly from too many burgers and beers, and cover up any hair/smelly armpits.

It's £60.00 from Topshop. Now thats pretty expensive if your planning on going away this summer. I mean who wants to buy a coat for a british rainy summer when your going to Marbella or florida, (or california for me. EKK!)

But if your going to wales, or salcombe like a proper British babe this will no doubt be your new best friend.

But if the paddingtonbear look doesn't appeal, here's some alternatives.

River Island. £40.00.

I love this jacket! It's a lovely little guilet. It say "ohh darling, I had a fabulous time at the horse show." It's lush!

Though, £40.00 for a sleeveless coat, doesn't really make sense. But with money to burn it'll be a happy addition to a wardrobe, (and seeing as you've bought tickets to glasto you must have money tucked away somewhere!)

This takes expensive to a new level.

Topshop £85.00

I know what you're thinking, "holy crap! That's stupidly expensive!" But hey we all know thats what Topshop are like anything fashionable and quirky the price is doubled.

But with a cute pair of shorts and a pair of hunter wellies you'll look fab in the fields at glasto.

So heres your fashion guide to covering up your cute summer outfits with a gorgeous coat that is just as lovely, and practical.

New Favourite Products.

Since starting my new job I have been able to visit my local boots store (which is soo conviently located NEXT DOOR to my job). I spend my lunch breaks and other breaks during the day to search through the aisles for new products to try out.

Some of them- of course- are not great and I don't use again. But these are the few that have made it into my self.

My life is all about my hair and it is soo important to me to have :

-Volume,

-a Natural Curl,
- Firm'ish hold.

Those who know me see that my hair is all about being as big as it can go. So keeping volume on a non washing day is very important to me.

THIS is Bastiste's

Original Dry Shampoo, at £2.30 its a bargain for beauty.

Coming in different fragences to take away the 2nd day hair smell

Tropical and Blush.

You simply flip all your hair forward so your head is upside down ( not the most attractive to do ) and spray the mist all over your roots especially the front. Then rub you scalp to remove excess, and when you flip your hair back over (very sexy) you should have considerably less greasy hair.

If like me you have darker hair I do suggest using the Bastiste specifically for dark hair as the mist in the original does come out white and is much more noticable in darker hair.

But I love this product and I know you all will too.

When your spending alot of time in long sleeved shirt

s at work and school getting sweat patches are inevitable, but with Sure Maximum protection the chances are near zero. I wear this constantly and it's become especially useful when going to a party and having that next more smell.... :P.

Costing £5.03 in boots, and £5.99 in Tesco its not the cheapest deodorant to buy but it is very very good.

Another one of my favourite products it Body Shop's Strawberry Body Butter.

THE SMELL just brings you back to your childhood. Filled with

Calpol and Tixilics. NOM! It leaves you skin silky smooth and smell delicious.

I do have issues with this product as it can be slimmy but when wear fake tan (As I tend to do) it helps you get that smooth finish.

Halloween Costume Ideas.

My love for halloween is purely based on my love for costume make and dressing up with a fully stocked dressing up box curstusy of my sister, I have no limit to the costumes I design and make.

This is my idea for a dead doll or just a doll. You can obviously add your own twists to it, for example:

-Add a ribbon to hold back the front of your hair in a little girl way.

-or Tie your hair back completely in a bun.
But one thing I wouldn't suggest is pigtails unless you want to look like a school girl.

The dress is topshop £20 I believe tho any schmok type dress would be ideal.

The shirt is french connection, but I believe the same thing applies find a outfit which has a rounded collar and buttons to the top to make you look as innocent as possible. ALTHOUGH, I have seen the same costume title worn with a 1950's style housewife dress (cap sleeves, nipped in at the waist and puffy at the bottom, with alittle appron at the front.

I wore stockings on my legs though white tights or knee high white/black socks would be ideal.

My make up is simple enough. I used a bright pink blusher by MAC, Estee Lauder Foundation in Shell Biege, I have 3 sets of revlon fake eyelashes on (just because I didn't have any thicker ones handy) and Barry M Raspberry lipstick. I suggest that you stick with thick liquid eyeliner sweeps to keep is old fashioned and girl. My eyes are quite big and I played to that with eyeliner at the bottom to define them more. ;)

Dark and Dirty

I thought I'd do something alittle different. These are some recent pictures I've taken for myself. Just out of boredom. But I figured.... Why not share with my fellow bloggers.

My Nail Growth Challenge.

Okay. I'm 18 and I've been biting my nails since I was a little kid. It's one of those things I really enjoy. But since my exams started I've notice my nails were getting smaller and smaller. It's got to the point where I can't stand to look at them.

So for my own self esteem I'm making a change and I'm going to stop biting them and try and take better care of them. It's my first day of not biting them, and so far I don't think I have consciously bitten them. Finger crossed.

1st

I've recently started my exams and I've been having problems with my nails. They've been dry and sore. So I've started off using Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Cuticle and Nail Treatment, and it's working wonders from the first use I notice my cuticles felt softer and less sore.

2nd

I use a cuticle remover tool to push back my cuticles and reveal more nail. It can hurt alittle but as long as you don't make with fingers bleed, a little pain is a sizeable loss in the quest for beautiful nails.

3rd

You need to file all the rough edges off your nails, otherwise these might catch on your clothes and cause breakage. Plus they'll look soo much tidier.

Tip: Always file into the centre of your nail edge. This will reduce chances of breakage, as sawing at your nails weakens the nail fibres. Then if you get a point in the centre just gently file down the edge.

4th

Use a multiple side nail file. This will shape, smoothen, buffer and shine your nails to perfection. Be gently and don't press hard for any of the side.

The amazingness of this tool is they usually give you a step by step direction on the file it self. Giving you an idea of which side to begin with.

Underwear or Outerwear.

This Summer we can all live a little bit on the edge.

But don't fret yourself, you will not a look like a whore as long as you wear them right.

Tip one.

Never wear black underwear/outerwear. You just look too night walker. I think it's better to stick with flourals and other type patterns.

Tip two.

There is nothing better than layering with these. A simple baggy top underneath can be a casual twist. It's very useful if you're belly conscious. However, if the top is too baggy it will bunch at the sides and make you hips look wider. And who wants that!

TOP 10 Summer Must-Haves.

It's official summer is here.

It's June now and soon we will all be basking in the sun shine enjoying our wine and beer... But now we need to think about our wardrobes.
After winter all the snow clothes have been bluking up our wardrobes. Now it's time to thin it out with tiny, floaty, cute things. LET'S START!

1. Shorts.
For the theme parks days, and the lots of walking days. There is nothing more comfy than a pair of shorts and this season the oversized tailored shorts are so in.

Also floaty shorts are another favourite, after last years trend of tight shorts the women of the world have realised their fault. This year we have opted for letting our legs breathe!
Thes shorts are perfect for smart evenings out aswell. Over all a good buy. BUT PLEASEEEE! Make sure they suit your body shape and they fit well.

2. Flower Print Dresses.
This is the perfect base of ALL outfits. Flowery or plain it's perfect. But small rose detail is the fashion favourite. But don't be affraid to mix the girly with a masculine twist, denim jacket is always a good choice.

3. The bikini

Okay, I'll admit it's an obvious choice for the holidays. But I'm gonna be a little more specific. The Tropical flower print is a favourite for this summer holiday. And don't forget miss matching bikini's is okay, don't worry. :)

4. Denim Shirts

Another favourite. It's seems that TopShop was one year ahead. I'm sure everyone remembers the favourite pale denim shirt. EVERYONE HAD ONE! Well lets hope you've all held on to that bad boy and you're prepared for this summer.

5. Cropped tops

Well we've learnt from another lesson of last year, the oversized top is definately out and cropped tops are in. THANK GOD! Now we can breathe.


6. Gladiators

The Gladiator sandals are making a comeback. However, the favourites of last year are making a slight change. The buckles are out and the lace up are so in. And here's a tip: ties at the back are far more flattering if you're leg conscious.

7. Oversized sunglasses

I love oversized glasses, they are the perfect solution for those makeup-less days. So let's take a leaf out of Jackie O's book. And these are perfect of feeling lke a celebrity and who wouldn't want to look like a celbrity.

8. Maxis Dress

In the last few years the maxi dress has taken over everyones wardrobes. But I'm sorry to report that the tribal print is soo out when it comes to the maxi. But the block colour is taking it's place, and rightly so I think.

9. Anything with fringe details.

Skirts, bags, Shoes, Waist Coats, Belts. EVERYTHING can have a fringe detailing.

10. Playsuit.

The name gives you a basic idea of it's use. I know they are not ideal for all body shapes but they are so pretty. why not splurge this year and try one out. You could only go wrong if you buy the wrong one.

Wave Goodbye to bad skin. (Fingers Crossed at least)

Soo..

I know it's been ages but I'm very busy with revision for my exams i've had for the past few weeks, but I have not disowned you. I am racking up odles of things to blog about.

Firstly

I have to tell you all about a new skin care product I have been testing out for you. (so you don't waste your money on crap products). I've just bought The Wave by Neutrogena.

At first I was alittle put off by it. I didn't understand how it could be good for my skin. But after thinking about it and putting my scientific mind to work I think I have reasoned with myself it's benefits.
It works much like an exfoiliator, removing all dead skin to prevent you pores becoming clogged and prevent bacteria causing acne and spots. It also makes skin alot smoother. Hey if you're beginning to worry about fine lines and wrinkles already, it can also reduce the appearence of wrinkles.

So all in all I think it sounds like it'll work really welll.

I'll update you guys to show off the improvements.

So this is an update:

It's been 2 days and I can already see results. My skin is alot softer, blackheads and spots seem to have reduced. So far so good.

It's been a week since I started using the wave, and I'm loving it. My skin is so much softer and clearer. I still have my blackheads which is a really big problem for me. But I'm going to try out there exfoiliating pads soon. So Fingers are still definately crossed.

"Life is so much more interesting in colour".

Have you ever been sat down preparing to paint your nails? all the colours you own lined up ready to be choosen. I have spend hours with such a conumdrum.
But I recently decided why do all nails have to be the same colour?!
So, I have been lapping up the multicoloured nail craze I've seen Pixie Lott rocking the style and I'm pretty sure Look had a section a couple months back.
Soo bye bye boring one coloured nails, and hello Exciting technicolour.

For months I've been using Barry M nail varnishes they are so colourful, their are loads of choices and they're avaliable in Boots ( what more could I want). But I have found a flaw in them they take ages to dry and if you're like me I can never sit still. As soon as the first stroke is down I need to move a piece of hair from my eye or pick something up. It's one of those testing moments for any girl. What a stress!

So, Barry M may not be the nail varnish for you. But I have done some research into alternative brands. And Essie's nail varnish came up top. Celebrated for being the choice of models and nail techys I think this one might be a good choice. And at $8.00 it's hardly breaking the bank account. But of course I haven't tried it. So if any of you readers have tried it and would like to comment on it. Be my guest.

Tip for putting on nail varnish! If like me you can never keep inside the nail just stroke on the nail varnish not being careful. Just messily stoking it on until the entire nail is painted waiting for them to dry then washing you hand ( maybe even doing the washing up) and gently scrub the edges of your fingers to remove all the extra varnish on your fingers. Works a treat.
